Our Story

We started our journey building a product.

We discovered we were building something much bigger.

Kapshoo began with a family memory book and grew into the Human Impact Network - a connected ecosystem for people, organisations, communities and causes.

After more than 40 years helping organisations grow, build value and demonstrate positive impact, and through the partnerships we have built, one deeply personal experience revealed the same truth we would later see everywhere.

People do not engage because they are told to. They engage when they feel connected.

Connected to a memory.
Connected to a person.
Connected to a cause.
Connected to a community.
Connected to a story they feel part of.

That realisation became the Human Impact Network.

A Gift That Lit Our Path.

A Gift That Lit Our Path.

Heather Carter, Kapshoo's co-founder, was given a memory book by her father. A tapestry of school days, army tales and shared moments that friends and family had filled in over the years. Each page held a piece of his story that nobody else could have told.

When she read it, she felt the love that had gone into it from every direction. It became one of the most loved things she owned.

Her husband Simon gave the same book to his mother. It stayed unfinished. She didn't know where to start, or how to make her contribution feel meaningful, sitting alone with a blank page.

The difference was simple. Heather's book had been shaped by many hands. Simon's mother faced an empty page alone.

A story built together comes to life in a way a story only one person could tell never does.

That was the first lesson behind Kapshoo. People contribute when they feel part of the story. Not when the page is blank. Not when the task feels lonely. Not when the moment feels disconnected from everything else. But when there is love, meaning, memory, recognition and connection. That truth started with family. But it did not stay there.

Kapshoo® was born

Kapshoo was first created as a private, ad-free place where families could capture memories together and make sure meaningful stories were not lost.

More than 3,000 people joined the beta community. That told us something important. This was not just a nice idea. It answered a real human need.

People want to remember. They want to be recognised. They want to feel that the moments and contributions that shape their lives have somewhere to live.

But as we built Kapshoo, we began to see the same pattern everywhere.

In business. In charities. In the local communities that we supported.

In businesses, good things were happening every day. People were volunteering, supporting colleagues, helping communities, raising money, improving wellbeing, reducing environmental impact and creating value far beyond their job titles. Charities were changing lives. Communities were being strengthened. Organisations were doing meaningful work that mattered to employees, customers, suppliers and wider society. But the story was disconnected. Evidence lived in spreadsheets, emails, reports, photos, memories, social posts and systems that rarely joined together. And because the story was disconnected, people often felt disconnected from the impact too. Volunteering became a day. Wellbeing became a programme. Social value became a report. Giving became a campaign. Community impact became something seen after the event, if it was seen at all. The good was real. But too often, it was invisible. And even more importantly, the human connection behind it was being lost.

The Human Impact Network

The Human Impact Network

We realised we were not building a memory platform. We were not building a CSR platform. We were uncovering a new category of network.

A place where people, businesses, communities and causes could connect through the positive difference they create.

A place where impact can be captured as it happens, not rebuilt afterwards - where people can discover the causes and communities they genuinely care about, organisations can turn purpose into participation, communities can be heard, causes can be discovered, and personal, commercial and social value can finally work together.

The Human Impact Network was beginning its journey into the world.

Why Connection Matters

The world is asking organisations to show more positive impact. But obligation alone will not create engagement.

Nobody wants to be told to care. People engage when something touches them. A cause that reflects their own experience. A community that feels close to home. A story that moves them. A moment where they can see the difference they can make.

That is the deeper purpose of the Human Impact Network. To connect people to the good they are meant to be part of. And to give that good somewhere to live, grow and inspire what comes next.

Activity Tracking

The most meaningful stories are built together.

Kapshoo started with a simple belief. The most meaningful stories are built together.

Today, that belief is becoming the Human Impact Network.

A connected home for the good people create. At home. At work. In communities. Through the causes we support.

Because human impact should not disappear after the moment.

It should be connected, recognised and carried forward. And when people feel connected to the good they are part of, more good becomes possible.

Process

The future will not be built by one organisation, one community or one cause. It will be built by the good we connect.
